An ABSOLUTE SWEETHEART!!

Rummi came from Arkansas and found himself in a new shelter in Kansas City . He was adopted by a family who fell in love with him at the first meeting. He quickly settled into his new home, but sadly he cannot stay because he does not get along with the cat. He must go to a home with NO CATS. He is great with dogs though, big, small, and in between. He also loves children and is very gentle with them. Rummi has had professional training.  He is incredibly loyal to his family.  If your looking for a buddy who just wants to be by your side, this is him! True to his breed, he is a smart pup and loves to play outside. When he has adequate exercise (either walks or trips to the dog park a few times a week) he is very quiet around the house. Rummi would love a home with a canine friend, but is fine as an only pet.

Rosie is a tiny little Chihuahua, about 6 pounds. She is around 2 years old, and is the sweetest little snuggle bug. She loves her person, and gets SO excited to see me each day when I get home. She does a little dance, and stands on her back legs when she sees me.  She is more affectionate than most Chi's but is typical in that she is not a big fan of kids, and is shy of new people. She gets along great with dogs of all sizes, in fact her best friend is a great dane. Her adoption fee is $165, and includes her spay, micro-chip, vaccinations, etc

Foxie is one sweet, shorty girl!  She is quite independent but absolutely loves affection!  She would do best in a quiet home as an only dog or with a furry friend that is mellow/well mannered.   She loves to lay around and relax but also loves to go on walks.  Foxie is the perfect companion for someone looking for a low maintenance, loyal, calm and sweet dog.  She would love to meet you!

Bridget is gorgeous girl!  She has a very happy disposition and loves to be loved.  She is extremely loyal and wants to be by your side, but is PERFECTLY kennel trained and actually enjoys her alone time as well.  She is smart and a delight to have around.  She has beautiful markings and is very unique looking.  Her fur is like silk- it is a real treat to pet her!  She bonds to people very easily and would love to be your best friend!

Bridget would do well in an active home.  She loves to go for long walks and play fetch.  She would love to have another dog to play with that has her same energy level.  She would also be a great single dog.

Kate is a sweet English Setter that is between 10-14 months old.  She and her siblings were rescued from a family that bred the litter and then never found them homes to go to.  She was/is underweight but is gaining, and is a healthy, sweet pup.  She is very shy at first, so expect when you first meet her, she will be shy.  She warms up quickly, and was my BFF in about 2 days.

Setters have a lot of energy, and need to be exercised and played with more than some other breeds.  In return, you will have a sweet and loving family member!  She is great with other dogs, loves toys, and maybe too shy for young kids.

Her adoption fee is $165, plus the $10 fee to register her micro-chip.  She will go on a trial adoption to make sure she is a perfect fit

Marci is a sweet little girl, she is about 12 pounds, and is a JRT mix.  She is smart as a whip, and very affectionate.    She can be a little shy at first, but is a snuggle queen after she knows you.  She is house broken and kennel trained, but I let her have free roam of house.

She is well mannered, good with dogs (however she prefers mid to lower energy friends).  She likes toys, but watching TV and snuggling is her favorite thing to do.

Zephyr is an AWESOME dog! He is house broken, knows commands, gets along great with dogs and kids, and he LOVES toys! He is a super smart dog, who is well-behaved, but will need a great human who will keep him exercised, challenged, and LOVED. This guy can jump a 4 foot fence, but luckily is not a bolter. This sweet boy is Catahoula/Aussie Shepherd, which makes him smarter than most humans….lol. He is about 10 months old.

Zeph loves doggie day care, and loves to play with other dogs.  He is a sweet and affectionate boy, and will make a great companion.

Tid Bit the Mastiff has gained enough weight for neuter...so he is officially up for adoption. You will NOT find a sweeter dog on this planet. He is a giant love bug!!!!! He is looking for a home with no or very few stairs for him to climb. He is house trained, well mannered, gets along with kids and dogs...can't imagine he wouldn't like a cat too. LOVE this guy!!   He came to us with an old injury, his back leg was badly broken and never repaired.  It is too late to do anything with it now, and he still uses it some for balance.  He gets around fine,  but has problems going up a lot of stairs.He is a gentle giant, that loves to lie on your feet when you sit on the sofa, so he can get a rub :)

HIs adoption fee is $90 and includes his neuter, vaccinations, micro-chip etc.  He will also come with his XRays.

Molly came to Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue, Inc. through another rescue and her adoption fee is sponsored. She is about 4 years old. She is a large dog that weighs about 70 lbs. Molly is a very good natured dog. She has a low to medium energy level and she is very intelligent so she would benefit from daily mental stimulation through play time and exercise. Even though she likes to play, she also enjoys laying around or just keeping watch. She LOVES her toys and it is fun to watch her throw them up into the air and catch them. She is an expert at playing fetch and it is her favorite thing to do next to playing in water. She loves to dive her head under the water taking her toys with her! She even likes getting baths. She is good with children and would enjoy having someone to play with. Molly loves being with her person and will be very loyal once that mutual trust and respect is built. 

Molly has somewhat of a dominate personality, so she would do best with a dog who is less dominant than she is. She should be introduced to another family dog in a calm environment to see if she is a good fit for your family. It is unsure how she would do with cats, however; it is likely she would not do well due to her prey drive. Although, she is fine around small dogs.

Molly is house trained and crate trained. She knows basic commands, and is very obedient and responsive to commands.  She is intelligent and very treat and toy motivated, which makes her easily trainable. Molly has not spent much time on a leash, so she pulls some and will need help with leash manners. She does like to go on car rides.

She is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, and micro-chipped. Molly is a beautiful and well behaved girl who has been patiently waiting for a home of her own. She may look like the average dog, but once you meet her you will see what a wonderful girl she is. She is just an all around good girl who is very deserving of a loving family.

Guinness is a sweetheart!  He is an awesome dog, that was born when a farmers' Airedale….well the rest is history!  He lived out on the farm as a pup, but is doing great adjusting to "city life"  He is totally kennel trained, and is pretty much house trained at this point as well (as much as any pup his age).  He is all the phone and love of a Lab…just not as much shedding 

They are 6 months old currently and Guinness currently weighs about 35-40 pounds.  The vet believes they will grow about another 20 pounds or so as an adult.  Guinn is really sweet and friendly, and everyone that meets him remarks on how sweet he is.  Even the vet office fell victim to his charms!   He is great with other dogs, is very playful, and just needs some work on his pup manners (sit, stay, etc).
